Do UAE residents need an Armenia visa in 2026?
Armenia’s entry rule is based on both passport nationality and the travel document or residence status you hold. UAE residence by itself does not automatically create visa-free entry for every nationality.
A major temporary rule is currently in force: from 1 July 2026 to 1 July 2027, nationals of 111 listed countries can enter Armenia without a visa if they hold a qualifying residence permit issued by the UAE, another GCC state, the EU, a Schengen state or the United States, and that residence permit is valid for at least six months from the date of entry. Travellers outside that list must follow the normal visa rules.
Documents to prepare
- Passport used for travel, with validity suitable for the intended stay
- Physical UAE residence permit/card where relying on the temporary exemption
- Proof that the residence permit remains valid for at least six months from entry when the exemption requires it
- Accommodation details and a realistic Armenia itinerary
- Return or onward travel plan
- Evidence of funds appropriate to the visit
- Employment, business or family-tie evidence where relevant to the travel profile
- Invitation or host details if the purpose of travel requires them
Use only genuine, accurate and verifiable documents. A checklist should be adjusted to the applicant’s nationality, purpose, funding and personal circumstances rather than copied blindly from another case.
Choose the correct Armenia entry route
First check the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa page against the exact passport nationality. If the temporary residence-permit exemption applies, keep the qualifying residence permit with the passport and travel evidence. If it does not apply, use the official Armenian visa or e-visa route that matches the nationality and purpose.
Do not assume that a UAE residence visa changes the underlying passport requirement unless the official Armenian rule expressly says so.
Build a consistent visitor file
Names, passport details, dates, accommodation, transport, leave dates, funding and sponsorship should tell the same story across the application. If one part of the plan changes, update every affected document before submission.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Relying on UAE residency without checking whether the passport nationality is on the temporary exemption list
- Using a residence permit that does not meet the required validity period
- Different dates across flights, accommodation and the stated travel plan
- Using an unofficial visa website instead of the Armenian government source
- Presenting altered reservations or documents that cannot be verified
Frequently asked questions
Can UAE residents enter Armenia without a visa in 2026?
Some can. Armenia has a temporary exemption from 1 July 2026 to 1 July 2027 for nationals of 111 listed countries who hold a qualifying UAE, GCC, EU, Schengen or US residence permit valid for at least six months from entry. Check the official nationality list before travel.
Does a UAE residence visa automatically make Armenia visa-free?
No. Eligibility still depends on passport nationality and whether all conditions of the official exemption or normal visa regime are met.
What should I carry if I rely on the residence-permit exemption?
Carry the passport used for travel and the qualifying physical residence permit, plus normal travel evidence such as accommodation, onward travel and funds.
Can I apply for an Armenia e-visa if the exemption does not apply?
Armenia issues e-visas for eligible travellers. The official Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa page should be checked for the exact passport nationality and purpose.
Can HEBVIZA guarantee entry or visa approval?
No. HEBVIZA prepares and reviews documentation. Entry and visa decisions are made only by the Armenian authorities.
