Do UAE residents need a Bolivia visa in 2026?
Bolivia classifies foreign passport holders into visa groups. Group I nationalities do not require a tourist visa, Group II nationalities require a tourist visa, and Group III nationalities require a tourist visa subject to prior consultation/authorisation through the relevant Bolivian authorities. UAE residence does not replace the passport-nationality rule.
If your nationality requires a visa, Bolivia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists core tourist requirements including a passport valid for at least six months, the visa declaration/application, travel itinerary or return tickets, accommodation or an authorised invitation, evidence of funds and a current photograph. Yellow-fever evidence can also apply when travelling to high-risk endemic areas.
Documents to prepare
- Passport with at least six months validity for the visa route
- Bolivian visa declaration/application where required
- Travel itinerary or return/onward ticket evidence
- Hotel reservation or qualifying invitation/host evidence
- Financial evidence such as bank statement and/or credit-card evidence
- Current photograph meeting the official specification
- Yellow-fever certificate if the official rule applies to the areas being visited
- Valid UAE residence evidence when applying through a UAE-based consular route
Choose the correct Bolivia visa group before preparing the file
Start with the official Bolivian nationality grouping. If you are in Group I, the tourist visa requirement differs from Groups II and III. If you are in Group III, the Ministry notes that prior migration authorisation is part of the route. Do not assume that another traveller’s checklist applies to your passport.
Build a consistent visitor file
Names, passport details, dates, accommodation, transport, leave dates, funding and sponsorship should remain consistent across the application and supporting evidence. If one part of the trip changes, update every affected document before submission.
For supporting evidence, see our bank-statement guide, cover-letter guide and day-by-day itinerary generator.

- Using an unofficial visa-payment or application website
