What changes on 24 September 2026
Immigration New Zealand (INZ) says that, from 24 September 2026, new applications for most listed visitor visa types must be submitted through enhanced Immigration Online. This is a change to the online application system, not a change to every visitor visa eligibility rule.
If you have started an application in the old system
- You can continue to complete and submit an existing draft application in the old system until 8 October 2026.
- From 8 October 2026, remaining drafts for the affected forms will be deleted. If you still wish to apply, you will need to start again in enhanced Immigration Online.
- If you have already submitted an application in the old system, do not submit it again solely because of this change. INZ says you will continue to be able to upload documents and respond to requests there until a decision is communicated.
Which visitor visa applications are affected
The change covers most visitor visa types listed by INZ, including the standard Visitor Visa, Business Visitor Visa and several purpose-specific visitor visas. Group Visitor Visa and Tour Escort Visitor Visa applications moved to enhanced Immigration Online earlier, on 24 August 2026. Check the exact visa type on the official INZ page before starting an application.
Practical next steps for applicants applying from the UAE
- If you intend to make a new application on or after 24 September 2026, begin through enhanced Immigration Online.
- If you have an old-system draft, complete it promptly and do not wait until the final closure date.
- Keep copies of the documents and information used in your application.
- Use the official INZ visa page to confirm the correct visa category and current evidence requirements before submitting.
