Most new visitor visa applications move to enhanced Immigration Online
Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has announced that, from 24 September 2026, new applications for most listed visitor visa types must be started in its enhanced Immigration Online system. The change applies to the visitor visa forms specified by INZ, so applicants should check the official list before starting an application.
Important dates for old-system drafts
- Until 7 October 2026: applicants with an existing draft in the old system can complete and submit it there.
- From 8 October 2026: remaining drafts in the old system will be deleted. Applicants who still need to apply will need to begin a new application in enhanced Immigration Online.
- Already submitted applications: INZ says applicants can continue to access submitted old-system applications to upload documents and respond to requests until a decision is communicated.
What applicants should do
Do not create a duplicate application solely because of this platform change. If you have a draft, check whether it can be completed before the deadline. If you are starting a new application on or after 24 September, use the enhanced system and follow the current INZ instructions for your specific visa type.
Applying from the UAE
For document-preparation guidance before you begin, see HEBVIZA’s New Zealand visitor visa documentation guide for UAE applicants. Always confirm the current application channel, visa type and document instructions directly with Immigration New Zealand before submission.
