What changes on 24 September 2026
Immigration New Zealand says that new applications for most listed visitor visa types must be made through enhanced Immigration Online from 24 September 2026. Applicants should check the relevant visa page before starting to confirm that their visa type is included.
What happens to an existing draft in the old system
If you already started a draft application in the old Immigration Online system, Immigration New Zealand says you can complete and submit it there before the old forms close. A submitted application does not need to be submitted again.
- 24 September 2026: new applications for the listed visitor visa types move to enhanced Immigration Online.
- 8 October 2026: remaining drafts for the specified forms in the old system will be deleted.
- After submission, applicants can continue using the old system to upload documents or respond to Immigration New Zealand requests until a decision is communicated.
Before you start
Use the official Immigration New Zealand visa page for your exact visitor visa type, then start the application in the system directed by Immigration New Zealand. Do not rely on an old draft if you are unable to submit it before the published closure date.
